ROAD TRIP!

For most of the trips that I have taken in my life there have been songs that 'symbolize' the upcoming adventure....Life is a Highway, Have Another Beer in Mexico, Carolina On My Mind, I Shot The Sheriff (this one is a long story), etc etc. For some reason when I think about the upcoming 18-day RV trip the only song that keeps coming to mind is the theme music from JAWS!

So by now we have done the big Costco trip, packed the rig to the point of absurdity, and have worked the kids into a frenzy of excitement. All that's left is to actually hit the road! For those of you who know us (and if you don't you probably shouldn't be reading our blog you stalker!), you probably are aware that Michelle and I are organizationally challenged. It's not that we don't care about stuff, it's just that we lack the capacity to REALLY care. This trip is no different. Yes we've been thinking about the trip for a year but did we actually bother to MAP IT OUT.....NOOOOO, of course we didn't. Do we really know where we are going to be or what specifically we are going to do when we get 'there'...nope. We do know of some fun places in our country...like the Spam Ham Musuem and world's largest twine ball in Minnesota, but our itinerary is well, unknown. At some point we hope to see Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone and the Grand Canyon, but our real goal is to find fun and whacky things to do with the kids each and every day along the way.

With the internet, GPS and a cell phone, we'll navigate from one place to the next and will be sure to update this blog along the way if only to let our loved ones know we are not lost at sea. Wish us luck!
