Going into 2008 (and again going into 2009), we had a family goal to try and do something 'active' together as a family for at least 40 of the 52 weekends of the year. While we knew that this was an aggressive goal, we really didn't grasp just how much planning this would take. We also underestimated just how much fun we would have together. 2008 was truly one of the best years for our family ever! To the right is a pic from a Jan. 3rd, 2009 trip to Natural Bridge, VA. Natural Bridge is definitely one of the great natural wonders of our country and absolutely worth the trip if you have kids. It is about 50 miles north of Roanoke (about a 2.5 hour drive from us). May: Rolling Thunder at Patriot Harley in Fairfax, VA
May: Hiking the Bull Run Mtn. Trail with Jada and Jordan (we saw a peacock and caught a crayfish!)
May: Spent the day at Lake Anna waterskiing and swimming with the Stones and the McQuinlans
June: Riley’s Birthday (a sleepover with SEVEN girls!)
June: Steph’s Graduation Pool Party
June: Spent the night at Grandma and Grandpa Sims
June: Water park with Papa
June: Saw Kung Fu Panda at the theater
